Grape Blossoms and Pollination

grape flower cluster in bloom Flower clusters are produced on new shoot growth and blossoming occurs in May, therefore grape blossoms are not usually injured by late frost.  Grapes are pollinated by wind.  Two cultivars are not needed for cross pollination, so you only need to plant one cultivar, for example, Concord.
