John Avery, Patrick Byers, Martin Kaps, Laszlo Kovacs and Marilyn Odneal
Edited by Marilyn Odneal

Having fresh, home-grown fruit on the table is an enticing thought that prompts many people to consider growing fruit at home.  Fruit plants can be the foundation of a beautiful and edible landscape or a rewarding hobby.  It is important to understand that a certain amount of work, planning and dedication are required to be successful.

If you are inspired to grow fruit and you decide that you have the dedication required, this web bulletin lists general cultivar recommendations and cultural guidelines for the major fruit crops that can be grown in Missouri.
