'Challenger' Grape Released from the
Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station

'Challenger' is a seedless table grape. Vine is
moderately vigorous; clusters are medium sized, loose with almost no
shoulders; berries are medium sized, tear shaped, orange-red to deep red
in color, very meaty and firm with one to two soft, small seeds; skin is
thick, tough, adherent in pulp; flavor is sweet, with delicate vinifera
character and excellent quality. Hardiness is moderate. Susceptible to
black rot, downy mildew and powdery mildew. Introduced 1983.
