The canes, vine and leaves indicate the Vinifera parent was crossed with an American species, probably Labrusca. The vine is hardy, extremely vigorous and productive; has perfect flowers. The fruit is slightly oval resembling Vinifera; it is blue, large, firm, and ripens late, with 'Catawba'. The cluster is medium and loose.  Introduced 1947.
