Research Programs in the Fruit Experiment Station include Alternative Fruit Crops Development directed by Patrick Byers, Grape Pathology directed by Dr. Laszlo Kovacs, Enology directed by Dr. Karl Wilker, Integrated Pest Management directed by Dr. Marciej Pszcsolkowski, and Pomology/Viticulture directed by Dr. Martin Kaps.  Additional research projects in Agroforestry and Specialty Crops are conducted in cooperation with other state programs.

The experiment station also operates the Center for Grapevine Biotechnology t
o explore genetic resources and to identify health-promoting compounds in diverse grapevine species.  This center is co-directed by Dr. Laszlo Kovacs and Dr. Wenping Qiu and includes the Grape Importation and Certification Program directed by Dr. Qiu.

Research results from these programs are disseminated through the commercial fruit crops advisory program and the public education advisory program.
