The development of the tree fruit and small fruit industries is a high priority for the Department of Fruit Science because of the economic impact that fruit crops have on Missouri's agriculture industry. Advisory Programs at Missouri State University continue to develop improved means of assisting the state's fruit growers and processors through timely information, individual consultation, workshops and short courses, and numerous publications, including production guides, newsletters and articles for amateur fruit growers.
Due to increasing demand for anytime, anyplace information by both commercial and amateur fruit growers, the Department of Agriculture has established a Horticultural Crops Demonstration Area on the Mountain Grove Campus and is offering online workshops aimed at increasing fruit production in Missouri.
Online workshops have been being developed for blueberries and grapes. The online workshops are available at no cost. Each workshop consists of modules and sessions, and each online workshop is stored in three different versions--Web Version, Video, and Slide/Audio. Please select the fruit workshop and version best suited for you and your computer.
NOTE: Many users do not have sufficient bandwidth to receive streaming video in an acceptable quality. For best viewing of the video version of the online workshop, we recommend that you have a minimum modem speed of 100K. If your modem is 56K or less, the video will be of low quality. One alternative is to download a Zip file of each workshop module for local playback.
The Video and Slide/Audio Versions of the online workshops require RealPlayer 5.0 (or later) installed on your system. It is free and can be downloaded from www.real.com.
